      Abstract: As English is more and more important today, how can we teachers to teach the students well? We should apply new teaching methods to teach the students, such as the interactive English teaching, the application of body language, the situational teaching method, etc.
      Key words: English teaching, new methods, sports school students
      At present, many teachers have realized the bad effects of duck-feeding method, and have gradually abandoned it. They also notice that the traditional teacher-centered teaching method which over emphasizes the role of teachers and in which instructions are almost entirely under the control of the teaching staff in the class is not good for the students English studying as it will decrease the students’ interests. So the teachers have to use various kinds of teaching forms to make the teaching task fulfilled. According to the basic demands in English class, which are laid down by education bureau in Autumn in 2001, and the features of sports students’ study, we find new ways in modern English class, such as the interactive English teaching, the application of body language, the situational teaching method, etc.
      1 The implementation of the interactive English teaching in the classroom of the sports schools
      1.1 Creating favorable physical environment
      Teaching should be a process of sharing ideas, and classroom should be a place for sharing ideas. In addition, the interaction between the teacher and the students takes place in the classroom. Therefore, all facilities including color, lamplight, temperature, scene, etc. in the classroom have a great impact on their interactions and activities. Consequently, the present main task is to make physical environment in the classroom beneficial for the interaction between the teacher and the students.? Furthermore, the teacher should try his or her best to give well-distributed concern to each student and enhance the intimate relationship between them.
      1.2 Creating harmonious socio-psychological atmosphere
      Socio-psychological conditions are artificial factors for the interactive English teaching, which embody on human relationships in the classroom.? Among all the socio-psychological conditions in the classroom, class atmosphere is one of the most important components for it defines the context in which the students can (or can not) concentrate on learning and feel safe taking risks.? It is important for the teacher to establish right concept for classroom behaviors.? As an organizer and leader, the teacher plays a decisive role in forming class atmosphere during the process of carrying out the Interactive English Teaching.? In order to form enjoyable classroom atmosphere and attract the students to take part in learning, the teacher should democratically supervise the students.? Therefore, one crucial principle for the teacher is to understand the students’ needs and feelings so that they are willing to be close to him or her.? The teacher should attract the students to participate in the interactive English teaching procedure.   2 Advantages of Body Language in English Teaching
      2.1Stirring Students’ Interest
      As an old saying goes: interests are the best teacher. The teachers have to stimulate the students, and the way teachers use to motivate them can be very important. If the teachers have passion in class, they can offer the students positive studying attitude.
      2.2Expressing Themselves Better
      English learners have to internalize the information that they have got from their teachers. Because of the lack of language atmosphere, Chinese students cannot speak their mind freely, let alone understand the deep meaning. If we do not use the appropriate words, maybe we will make the students become puzzle or ever give them worry information. Fortunately body language helps a lot to solve this problem. So the students do not have to say a lot of words around one idea. With the help of body language, they can easily understand when they try to start a conversation with others.
      2.3Understanding Students Clearly
      When the teachers are giving class, body language is not only to motivate the students, but also help to understand the students’ inside world. If the students are submissive, anxious, dominant, bored, lying or telling the truth, the way students stand, move, and sit reveal and convey their thought.
      3 The Application of Body Language in English Teaching
      3.1Situation of English Teaching
      Learning a second language needs persistent passion. However, the students have not enough passion to be motivated. They are longing for freedom to study in a fresh way. If they lost their passion on English, they do not like having English class any more. The teachers may have to use some spare time to rethink about this matter. To create a stress-free learning atmosphere and to be a popular teacher with students, body language is very important aspect in teaching. By this, the teachers can introduce more body language in teaching process to create enjoyable learning atmosphere.
      3.2Body Language Involved in English Teaching
      An educational psychology indicates that to develop the students’ intelligence is affected by their mood in class. The change of the teachers’ behavior and expression control the change of the students’ mood. The teachers’ expression, eyesight and gesture affect the students’ mental state and studying attitude. The teachers’ positive body language benefits the students’ intelligence and creates a relaxing, natural and happy studying atmosphere. Meanwhile, positive mood and happy mental state benefit to teach and stimulate the students’ studying interest.
      Sports school students are a little special from other students. So we should pay more attention to the teaching methods. Using different methods can help to arise the students interests thus to improve their ability.
